New Chapter

Allison Song

Lots have happened over the past few months. The biggest being... I moved to Colorado! Ever since our first visit to Colorado, my husband and I have been daydreaming about living here and for the past 6 months, we turned our dreams into reality. We both lived in Atlanta for most of our lives and we knew we wanted to try living somewhere else together before really setting our roots down. Colorado seemed like the most adventurous, yet logical, destination for us. It's been about 3 months since we moved to Fort Collins and there hasn't been an ounce of regret yet. We've created new connections and jumped into new opportunities and I can't help but think that it was all meant to be. It's amazing what happens when you take a leap of faith into the unknown, trusting that you will be taken care of when you get to the other side. I'm thankful to be meeting so many wonderful people and being able to share my craft and love of flowers to a whole new city/state. And the views have been pretty amazing too.

Process > Perfectionism

Allison Song

I started working on this new blog with the hopes of launching by the end of summer last year. 6 months later and it's still not perfect but I decided to go ahead and launch it, flaws and all. The more I grow older, the more I'm learning to let go of that perfectionist side of me and to enjoy the process instead.

One of the biggest crippling qualities of a perfectionist is not being able to start something because of their fear of failure.  I am definitely guilty of this and it has hindered me several times from great opportunities, including launching this blog half a year ago. After months of inner debate, I finally decided that putting out content and connecting with my community was going to be way more fulfilling than hoarding everything and working on it until it satisfied my inner perfectionist.

All this to say, my new site is still a work in progress and I don't have a clear direction on where to take it, but I'm hopeful and excited to share this journey with you.

Do you guys struggle with your inner perfectionist too? What are some ways you overcome it?
